The results were significant.

Pregnant individuals in the greenest neighborhoods showed lower hair cortisol levels. This held true even after controlling for neighborhood income and whether the area was urban or rural.

The effect wasn’t uniform across all metrics.

Cortisone levels dropped specifically in areas with roughly 500 meters of surrounding greenery. At the street level, though, more grass coverage correlated with lower levels of both cortisol and cortisone.
