  • In Alzheimer’s and mixed dementia, citicoline helped preserve (and sometimes slightly improve) cognitive function over time.
  • In Parkinson’s-related MCI, participants experienced measurable improvements in memory and thinking after a year of use.
  • Post-stroke, citicoline reduced the risk of developing long-term cognitive impairment.

Meta-analysis confirmed that citicoline produced a measurable improvement in overall cognitive scores.

Dosage and Supplementation

The most researched form of citicoline is Cognizin® at 500 milligrams per day. Many brain health supplements don’t include this full clinical dose, but it can be found in powders combined with creatine monohydrate or in capsules with resveratrol and kanna.

Citicoline demonstrates real potential for supporting cognitive health, particularly in the early stages of memory struggles with consistent, long-term use.
